This beer refers to a style of music that combines beer and music in a unique way. As a rule, beer and music go together insofar as they complement each other wonderfully and the beer tastes a little better with the right background music. The youth music, however, does not involve the beer itself, but the vessel in which you buy the beer. Jugs are clay jugs that can be made to sound with the right technique. Jug bands have their origins at the beginning of the 20th century and are rarely found today.

The Freigeist Bierkultur brewery has dedicated a beer to this forgotten style of music. The barrel-aged Berliner Weisse was created in collaboration with the De Garde brewery and flows into the glass in a shimmering copper mahogany tone. A bouquet of dark fruits, sour wine and delicate caramel rises from the fine-pored foam crown and tempts you to take the first sip. This delights with wine-like notes of red berries, aromatic oak and dark currants. The fruity acidity is balanced by notes of creamy caramel, nuances of raisins soaked in rum and spicy honey elegantly round off the complex interplay of aromas.

Freigeist’s Sauerland Plastic Jug Band is an unusual Berliner Weisse, which all friends of complex beers and wine fans should taste.
