A Scorpion Bowl is a Polynesian drink that is traditionally served in a large, richly decorated ceramic bowl. Several drinking straws make it possible to share the drink. The Scorpion Bowl usually contains rum, brandy and a syrup made from barley, almonds, orange blossom and rose water. Orange and lemon juice give the drink a fruit kick. Because the guys at Stone Brewing prefer beer to cocktails, they developed a recipe that was inspired by the fruity cocktail. The result is a juicy IPA that inspires with a truckload of fruit, crunchy bitterness and beautiful hop notes.
Stone Scorpion Bowl presents itself in an almost clear sun gold in the glass and is crowned by a good amount of snow-white foam. A seductive scent of tropical fruits rises in the nose: juicy pineapple, sweet tangerine, guava, mango, passion fruit and an exotic hint of hibiscus make your mouth water. In terms of taste, the IPA keeps what it olfactory promises. Diverse layers of fruit peel off on the tongue and delight the palate with notes of mandarin, strawberry and blueberry. Fine notes of hoppy herbs and a wonderfully bitter taste round off the play of aromas.
