The traditional English Mild Ale is a beer that is chosen not for its revs, but for its delicately balanced taste and high drinkability. The low alcohol content is offset by a range of cleverly coordinated flavors that make the classic a real pleasure for the tongue and palate.
Craft brewers are always looking for the next big hit and of course they came across this delicacy. After being forgotten for a long time, the mild ale is currently experiencing a small renaissance. More and more breweries are adopting the style and thus meeting the need for slim, light-footed brewing pieces. Felix from Orca Brau is one of these pioneers. Together with the Heidenpeters and Ale-Mania teams, he came up with an English Mild that shines with delicate acidity, soft malt and an unmistakable grapefruit note.
The creation is called Head in the Clouds and brings a gentle 3.9% alcohol content to the table. The Philly Sour yeast strain is responsible for the nice acid kick, while the wonderful citrus notes are created by cold hopping with the Cascade variety. The green gold comes from the Hallertau and was grown in controlled organic farming.
If you are looking for a drinkable beer with a complex aroma and great freshness, you should definitely try this brew!
