The Hell from the Altenburger brewery’s range is a lager with a palatable 4.9% alcohol content that is brewed with exquisite light malt and mild hops.
The Altenburger Hell flows into the glass in crystal clear straw yellow and has a stately crown of white foam on its shiny body. A tantalizing scent rises from the fluffy splendor: light grain, a touch of freshly mown grass and the aroma of sun-dried straw invite you to take a first sip. This reveals a balanced, full-bodied body with gentle carbonic acid. The initial taste is malty and shows notes of grain, straw, bread dough and delicate caramel. The hops are added in the course of the drinking pleasure and contribute floral notes and the aroma of freshly mown grass. A touch of citrus elegantly rounds off the play of aromas. The fine hop bitterness increases right through to the finish and leads to a crunchy bitter finish that tastes of grass and summer blossoms.
Due to its balanced nature and the mild aroma, Altenburger Hell goes perfectly with a wide variety of dishes. Our favorite with this beer is an oven-roasted chicken with colorful root vegetables and homemade sweet potato fries. In addition, a fine truffle mayonnaise and the tasty Altenburger Hell.
