Bock beers are a very special beer specialty: The strong beer is not only characterized by its high alcohol content, but usually also by its aroma-intensive character and voluminous body. Bock beers are the perfect companion for the cool season, as they provide warmth in body and soul with a lot of turns and can brighten up rain-plagued hearts with their powerful aromas.
The Altenburger brewery also has a bock beer in its range. The 7.0% strength beer is a full-bodied specialty that won the brewery a bronze medal at the World Beer Awards in 2019.
The goat presents itself in a magnificent copper red in the glass and adorns itself with a stately crown of slightly tinted, fragrant foam. A tantalizing scented potpourri rises from the creamy, fine-pored head and tempts you to take the first sip with notes of strong malt, freshly baked bread, roasted nuts and spicy honey. This reveals a massive body with gentle carbonic acid and a cornucopia of intense taste nuances. Soft malt caresses the palate with aromas of melt-in-the-mouth caramel, roasted cereals, stone oven bread and spicy yeast. In the course of the drinking pleasure, the hops join in and complete the play of aromas with harmonious herbal notes and a fine bitterness that compliments the malt sweetness wonderfully.
