The Helle is a classic beer style that has its origins in Bavaria. It is a light, golden-colored lager with a malty character and a mild, harmonious taste. The alcohol content is usually between 4.5 and 5.5%, which makes the beer a drinkable alternative to styles with a higher percentage. One of the hallmarks of the Helle and its namesake is its light color, which is achieved through the use of light malt. In contrast to dark types of beer, light grain is used that is roasted to a lesser extent. This choice affects the color and taste of the beer. The foam of the light beer is fine-pored and stable, the carbonation is usually mild to lively. The brew is the perfect accompaniment to various dishes and an ideal thirst quencher. Because the light beer contains fewer hops than, for example, the Pilsner, it is milder and brings less bitterness into the glass.
An extremely successful representative of its kind is the light beer from the Autenrieder brewery. The delicacy flows into the glass in a shiny gold tone and is crowned with an aromatic head of foam. Scent and taste are composed of sunny cereals, oven-fresh bread, caramel, spicy yeast and fruity hops. The creation is round, tasty and refreshing.
