Berlin is a city of over a million people that stretches over almost 900 square kilometers. Highlights and sights that attract hordes of tourists year after year are piling up on this grandiose area. The Tiergarten, the Hackesche Höfe, Charlottenburg and Alexanderplatz are among the most popular places to go and it is precisely in these places that you can find a real Berlin original: the Lemke brewery. rn
The exciting history of the company began in 1998. Founder Oli returns from abroad with a lot of ideas and wants to put the accumulated experience of the last few years into his own project. He previously graduated from college in brewing and has traveled the world building breweries. With rudimentary means and stable specialist knowledge, Oli builds his first own brewing system. A short time later he encounters the perfect location: a disused S-Bahn arch at Hackescher Markt is to be leased and the founder seizes the opportunity and converts the hall into a brewery. His friends actively lend a hand and shortly before the new millennium the first beer flows in the Brauhaus Lemke. From then on things went steeply uphill: Lemke took over the cult pub Tiergartenquelle, Leopold's Brauhaus on Alexanderplatz and the Charlottenburger Luisenbräu. The acquisitions allow Oli to expand its production, build new facilities and increase its range. He and his team establish a pilot brewery, install a bottling plant, expand and open a beer garden. A round thing.rn
However, because Oli has never lost his wanderlust, it keeps driving him out into the world. His company runs like a well-oiled machine and his team of reliable, hard-working and independent people allows him to break out of everyday life again and again. Now and then he goes off to set up breweries all over the world and returns inspired, motivated and fresh from his travels. This great freedom can also be felt in his product range: At Lemke, whatever you feel like is brewed. There are Berlin classics, down-to-earth traditional ones, imaginative craft beers and special specialty beers - a colorful hodgepodge of handcrafted brews that cover every taste. In addition to the fine brewing pieces, Lemke Berlin also sells matching glasses and beer-based merchandise such as shirts and caps. rn
Over the past 20 years, Oli Lemke and his team have developed into a real Berlin institution and it is impossible to imagine Germany's modern beer market without them!
