At this point we would like to introduce you to the oldest private brewery in Tyrol. Zillertal Bier is a traditional Tyrolean company and can look back on more than 520 years of brewing history. The family brewery goes back to Ludwig Jobst and is now run by the 16th generation of the Lechners.
The family is particularly proud of their excellent raw materials. The ingredients for the fine Zillertal beer are mainly sourced from local farmers and the growing areas are selected with care and a good eye for quality. The Lechners maintain a close relationship with their suppliers and know the people who cultivate their raw materials with passion and dedication by their first names. In some cases, the connection between the brewery and the farmers goes back several generations and you can almost say that the farmers are part of the family. In addition to the selection of the best grain and hops, water plays a key role. Beer is largely made up of water, and it contributes to the taste and mouthfeel. The basis for the beer specialties of the Lechner family is the Zillertal mountain water. The cool water is drawn directly from the source and is characterized by its low degree of hardness. The soft water makes the beer a real treat for the soul and is the perfect basis for the creative work of the brewers. The handpicked raw materials and the water are supported by an indispensable element: time. In order to mature to its full splendour, beer needs rest and time. In the Lechner house, they are happy to give the beer this time and patience is rewarded with tasty results.
Everything that is created and brewed at Zillertal Bier follows a mission. The family and their employees want to inspire. Passion, discipline, commitment and responsibility are based on an enthusiasm that drives and motivates the team every day. With its wonderful beer creations, the brewery wants to spread this enthusiasm and infect its customers with it. The brewery maintains a special bond with its region: Zillertal Bier has been supplying some restaurants with delicious beer for 500 years. In order not only to supply the people of the region with beer, but also to equip them with the necessary knowledge about beer, the brewery recently opened the BrauKunstHaus. In an extensive exhibition area, curious beer fans can get an exciting insight into the work of the brewery and learn interesting facts about the Tyrolean brewing tradition.
If you too would like to belong to the illustrious circle of friends of the brewery, you have the opportunity here with us to get to know and love the brewed beers from Zillertal Bier. Who knows, maybe a relationship will emerge that will last for the next 500 years?
