Beer is our passion and the basis of our work. We love the barley juice and everything related to it. We like to drink beer on every possible occasion, like to talk about it and infect others with our enthusiasm for it. The Sofia Electric Brewing team would certainly agree with us on everything, but they even go one step further: For Simeon, Kami and Aiden, beer is a basic human right and they do their best to ensure that their compatriots and everyone else is part of their daily ration of beer come.

When a hobby becomes a vocation

Simeon Parvanov came up with the idea of his own brewery in 2018. The qualified IT specialist brewed his first brews while he was still studying. The hobby brewer has always been fascinated by beer and just couldn't keep his hands off it. Brewing beer in his student digs in Sofia seemed like an obvious choice and he followed this impulse quite successfully. However, it was to be another two years before the first brew under his later label Sofia Electic Brewing saw the light of day. The process from the original idea to the finished beer was a long and difficult one, but Simeon was not discouraged. In June 2020 the time had come: The first beer from the brewery in the heart of Sofia was ready. Today, Simeon is no longer alone with his dream: his small team also includes Kami and Aiden. Kami studied microbiology and ventured into the microbrewery scene. Aiden is a trained brewer and before his career at Sofia Electric Brewing worked at renowned breweries such as Põhjala and Siren.

Creative beer for Sofia and the world

By joining forces, the three want to brew beer for the people and make Sofia a center of craft beer. They want to build a lively brewing scene and create a climate in which creativity and the art of brewing intertwine and flourish. In order to keep their own range fresh and varied, the team repeatedly invites brewers from all over the world for collaborations or visits other breweries. The brewery offers a colorful hodgepodge of hopped craft beers and friendship brews. Fun, passion, creativity and joy are top priorities at Sofia Electric — only the outstanding taste of their beers is more important.
