Beer liqueur is a high-proof specialty that was invented out of an emergency. Even if beer is delicious and there is always someone to save the last bottles from spoiling, sometimes you cannot avoid that one or the other copy will expire. In order to save valuable beer from the can, resourceful brewers (or housewives?) Have come up with the beer liqueur.
