Amarillo is number 07 in the series of new beers in the Gänstaller brewery’s range. The legendary brewer Andreas Gänstaller has brought his daughter Daniela to the side and together they have given the small Franconian brewery a new coat of paint. The beers are delicious as usual, but have a new design.
Amarillo gets its name from the American aroma hops of the same name, which are used for their strong taste and playful flowery. Andreas and Daniela have chosen the hops for their latest strong beer. Bock beers are usually characterized by their heaviness and are mostly malty. Not so Amarillo: The unconventional bock beer is tasty, fruity, fresh and simply different.
Amarillo flows into the glass in shining amber and adorns itself with a stately crown of thick, creamy foam. A surprisingly fruity scent of juicy oranges, ripe peaches and blooming summer flower meadow rises from the white splendor. The initial taste is strong and presents a voluminous body. The balanced fruitiness gives the Bock an elegant lightness: notes of sun-ripened oranges, exotic fruit and peach meet the taste of lemon cake, pine resin and floral hops on the palate. A touch of caramel and a fine bitterness round off the play of aromas.
Amarillo is an absolutely extraordinary goat and recommendable for everyone who likes to drink strong beers with character.
