Stripes , dots and waves are now followed by blocks: the Bamberg brewery Blech.Brut is continuing its series named after minimalist pattern elements.

Part 1 of the series is Peach Blocks, an India Pale Ale with a dynamic 6.0% ABV. The brew comes in a silver tin with peach-colored blocks arranged diagonally and was made in Franconia. In addition to a full round of barley, oat and spelled malt, the hop varieties Citra, Talus and Cashmere found their way into the kettle. The end result is the color of juicy peach pulp and is completely opaque. A tempting scent of ripe stone fruit rises from the heavily cloudy beer with a fine, white crown, which makes you want to drink. And the peach can also be found here: it combines with apricot, golden pineapple and grapefruit to create an irresistible cocktail. The malt stays in the background, but provides the grippy texture and the thick, creamy mouthfeel. A hoppy bitterness balances the exuberant fruit sweetness and gives the IPA its typical character.

We love peaches in any preparation - as a cake, from the can, fresh from the tree, grilled, as a cobbler, preserved, in an aperitif, as jam, ice cream, jelly or juice - but we prefer the summery stone fruit in beer form!
