Although the brewers at Rye River Brewery are from Ireland rather than the west coast of the United States, they still have a fairly good command of the beer style from there. Rye River’s take on a West Coast IPA is a powerful beer with a hefty amount of hops and two types of fine malt.

Their Big Bangin ’India Pale Ale has a whopping 7.1% alcohol content and elicits every single one of their countless taste nuances from the Columbus, Mosaic and Simcoe hops.

Rye Rivers West Coast IPA presents itself in a deep gold tone in the glass, a fleeting veil of white foam sits on the delicately cloudy body. On the nose, caramel malt meets juicy orange, ripe mango, exotic passion fruit and a spicy hint of pine resin. The perfect IPA bouquet! And the taste of the Irish IPA is also accurate: the malt forms a soft base that tastes like caramel, gradually being joined by juicy notes of tangy citrus fruits, golden pineapple, passion fruit, mango and guava. The fruity spectacle is complemented by the aromas of freshly mown grass, herbs and fine resin. The revolutions are skilfully integrated into the taste profile and are barely perceptible. The finish, like the entire beer, is hoppy and, in addition to citrus-fresh fruit notes, also has a subtly coordinated bitterness.
