Even if it sounds like it, Talus is not a hip vacation spot in the Baltic States that is approached by converted vans and caravans. Talus is a hop variety from the Yakima Valley that is known for its intense variety of flavors and has not been on the market that long. The hop was previously known under the working title HBC 692 and was developed from the Sabro variety. In addition to intense citrus notes, the taste profile of Talus includes a playful flowery, woody components of oak, grapefruit, ripe stone fruits, a little coconut and spicy elements that taste like strong pine resin. The hop variety is perfect for making characterful India Pale Ales and also served as the inspiration for a beer for the Pinta brewery.
Postcard from Talus is part of the Pinta of the Month series from 2021, which revolves around hops and their diverse aromas. In keeping with the holiday month of August, Browar Pinta sends you a tasty postcard from Talus, the capital of hops.
Pinta’s creation flows into the glass in a milky, sunny yellow and is adorned with a volatile crown of fragrant foam. Delicate citrus scents invite you to take the first sip, which ensnares the palate with creamy sweetness and a light-footed body. In terms of taste, the holiday greeting presents itself with juicy notes of pink grapefruit, which combine on the tongue with other citrus fruit, spicy herbal notes and a touch of rose.
