Bare feet in dewy grass wander briskly to the raspberry hedge. Fingers already red from sweet raspberry juice, you put one fruit after the other in your mouth. It smells heavenly of the fresh berries - that’s summer in a nutshell. Is there anything more summery than fresh raspberries?

And it is precisely this feeling that the Lithuanian brewery Sakiškių alus ties into with their enchanting Gose with Raspberries. The Gose, which actually comes from Leipzig, is a naturally sour beer that gets its incomparable taste with the help of special yeasts and lactic acid bacteria. The slightly salty note used to be attributed to the Leipzig groundwater, but many Gosen are also salted. In the case of the Gose from Sakiškių alus, the good Himalayan rock salt was used for the spicy, salty note. It is known for its softness and mildness and perfectly complements the fruity sweetness of raspberries. The Gose with Raspberries smells like a basket of freshly picked raspberries. Elegant notes of malt mix with the sweet aroma of summer fruits, providing a good base for the raspberries. The Lithuanian raspberry goose presents itself on the tongue with a dominant raspberry aroma. The second sip reveals the true depth of this beer: hidden between the massive raspberry there is a surprising hint of fresh herbs, which is carried by a pleasant saltiness. All switches are flipped to summer, that’s for sure.
