The Urbock is a very special beer specialty from Schlenkerla. Just in time for the beginning of the cold season, the traditional brewery brews its full-bodied Urbock and complements its range of the finest smoked beers with a delicious strong beer. Brewing begins in summer so that the Urbock can be served in autumn. After the brewing process has been completed, the Urbock is allowed to mature to its full glory in the brewery’s rustic rock cellar. Deep below the historic Stephansberg, the Urbock is developing into an aromatic delicacy.

The Urbock from 2016 is a limited special edition. The unfiltered vintage version of the popular Urbock is stored in the rock cellar for a full four years and gains in taste, depth and complexity during this time. In addition, a higher malt content ensures a silky mouthfeel. The Urbock presents itself in the darkest mahogany in the glass and adorns itself with a hazelnut brown foam crown. A smoky scent of autumnal campfire and sweet dried fruit rises in the nose, the first impression confirms the first impression: wood fire, caramel, fine dry and balanced.

As a rule, the Urbock is served directly in the brewery’s dining room. Countless beer fans gather in the bar in the bar on Dominikanerstraße Bamberg to ring in the autumn with this strong beer specialty. But the Schlenkerla Urbock also tastes excellent at home.
