This year, the brewers from Maisel & Friends have again prepared a Bourbon Bock. Traditionally, the strong beer is filled into wooden barrels at the end of the brewing process and matures there for a few months to reach its full splendor - this is also the case with the Bourbon Bock Barrel Aged 2022. As always, the brew is strictly limited and will not be available again until next year, when it once drunk. The series has now been running for many years and has become an integral part of the brewery’s core range.

The barrel-aged specialty brings a decent 8.0% alcohol content and a wonderfully warm copper color to the glass. A fine-pored crown of lightly tinted foam completes the handsome look and exudes a heavenly scent of full-bodied malt and fine bourbon. The exquisite spirit runs like a red thread through the drinking pleasure and is also reflected in the taste: the distillate harmonises wonderfully with the strong aromas of the bock beer. On the palate, notes of dried figs, earthy oak, vanilla, roasted malt and candied dark fruits combine to form a spicy whole that, in symbiosis with the whiskey, warms body and soul. The Bourbon Bock shows a successful interplay of fruity acidity, creamy sweetness and mild bitterness that caresses the tongue with a velvety texture.
