The Franconian art of brewing looks back on a millennia-old tradition. Over this time, brewers have accumulated an inexhaustible wealth of brewing knowledge, expertise and experience and passed it on from generation to generation. The beer landscape of Franconia is diverse and offers the connoisseur an incomparable concentration of breweries. Most of these breweries are still privately owned, some of them by the same family for decades. Even if there are not as many breweries here as there used to be, the brewing trade is still a lived and valued part of the culture.

An indispensable element of this culture is lager. This generic term encompasses Franconian classics such as Kellerbier or Märzen and is part of the repertoire of every brewery in the region. The bottom-fermented beer style gets its name and the balanced, round character from the extensive storage after the brewing process is complete.

An original old Franconian lager comes from the Adler-Bräu in Stettfeld. The Lower Franconian brewery brews an amber-colored example that scores with mild aromas and high drinkability. With a pleasant 5.0% alcohol content, the beer is in the golden mean - a principle that also applies to the taste: A fine balance of soft grain, nutty hints, bread crust, herbs, grass and elegant hop bitterness ensnares the palate and makes you thirsty for another Bottle.
