Like the Hofstetten brewery, the Hochland beekeepers are also a 100% Austrian company. The protection and preservation of their homeland is important to both of them, as is the sustainable use of Austria’s rich resources and the use of regional raw materials. In a grandiose collaboration, beekeepers and brewers have now come together to create a beer that combines the best of both worlds.
The honey for the organic honey beer is a fine blossom honey that was collected by hard-working bees on the sun-drenched slopes of the highlands. In order to consistently continue the regionality, hops and barley also come from the Mühlviertel and are also from controlled organic cultivation. From these hand-picked ingredients, the brewers conjure up a beer using the art of brewing that is already a visual hit: The Hofstettener Hochland organic honey beer flows into the glass in liquid gold and is adorned with a handsome crown of dense-pored, snow-white foam. However, the honey is not only reflected in the warm honey tone of the colour, but also runs like a golden thread through the enjoyment of the beer. A soft honey scent rises from the head of foam and the initial taste is also dominated by creamy, spicy and delicately sweet honey.
The brewers recommend a drinking temperature of 10 to 12 degrees. At this temperature, the honey unfolds its full potential.
