The Hummel Brewery from Merkendorf is a real traditional brewery: the family has been brewing beer with craftsmanship, heart and a lot of experience for more than 175 years. The brewery has been around much longer, so its expertise draws on centuries of brewing history. The Hummels range consists of a solid collection of down-to-earth Franconian classics in a variety of forms.

The Märzen is one of the most popular beers in the selection. This beer style is available in a conventional version and as a variant with smoked malt . The classic from Hummel is a pithy character in an amber robe.

The good March envelops you as soon as you lift the crown cap with a sensual composition of freshly baked bread, roasted cereals, roasted almonds and candied fruit. The first sip reveals a medium-heavy body with gentle carbonation. Balanced and not too sweet, notes of strong bread, caramelized nuts and spicy malt caress the palate. The hops enrich the aromas with a combination of crisp bitterness and tartness that is reminiscent of British orange marmalade. A creamy note of honey elegantly rounds off the taste profile. The light Marchen tastes best from a clay jug . The shapely drinking vessels made of earthenware or clay keep the beer cool, are suitable for an atmospheric toast and give the beer additional charm.
