The beers in the ater artist edition from Hertl are almost too nice to drink: The Würzburg illustrator duo ATE has taken on some Hertl classics and given them a new coat of paint. The beers are dressed in lively lines, geometric flora and timeless Art Nouveau motifs. Four real classics from the brewery are hidden behind the artistic labels: Grandma’s bed sweets , mum’s sunshine , papa’s whiteness and grandpa’s darling .
The cock in the basket is ater Schtrong. The fine amber ibex shines with malt in a diverse range of aromas and a little kick of hops. The 6.5% alcohol content ensures a cozy warmth in body and soul, while caramel and barley malt give the beer a wonderful taste.
The Franconian goat in an elegant robe flows into the glass in a splendid copper red and is adorned with a crown of fine-pored, beige foam. The first impression consists of fine scents of oven-fresh bread crust, creamy forest honey, toffee, forest berries and lemon zest. The beer has a malty taste, which increases in the body to a symphony of sun-ripened grain, tenderly melting caramel, freshly cut herbs, sweet brioche bread and tart orange jam. In the finish, the hops join in and contribute a nice tartness and a harmonious bitterness.
The ater Schtrong from the Hertl brewery looks and tastes wonderful.
