Espiga is the Spanish word for ear of wheat and the name of a brewery that came from a heart project. The two former biologists Teresa and Arnau felt called to create something very extraordinary: a beer that has a soul. They wanted to create a beer that exudes a person with personality, character, rough edges and liveliness and a clear statement. Anyone who has ever tasted Espiga beers knows how well they did it.
The founders of Espiga place a special focus on the high quality of their raw materials and the careful processing of them. This is the only way to create a product that meets your own requirements. They clearly speak out against the pasteurization process - too much of the original liveliness would be lost. Espiga attaches great importance to transparent production and explains the brewing process on their website to interested beer lovers with understandable graphics. Theresa and Arnau's passion is in every detail and is of course also recognizable in the quality of their beer. Their hard work and dedication paid off in 2014 when they received the Silver Medal of the Global Craft Beer Awards for their Espiga beer, a Black IPA.
What was initially reserved for beer lovers in Spain can now be enjoyed here: In addition to the award winner Espiga, there are other special beers such as the gluten-free blonde ale , which should not only please allergy sufferers. It seduces with a surprisingly wide range of fruity aromas that range from tropical citrus notes to white grapes and a delicate watermelon taste. But the other beers from Espiga, such as Espiga Black Cel Ona or Woody Cherry , which was created in cooperation with the Russian brewery On the Bones, are also impressive. They are characterized by the fine aroma and the elegant coordination of the individual taste notes.
So for your next siesta, we recommend a beer from Espiga!
