When a loud "Jimmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" The young brewer is part of the Hertl family of brewers and has a curious story behind it.

When he traveled through Europe with little luggage a few years ago, he temporarily helped out for board and lodging in Franconia’s smallest brewery. He immediately liked the good atmosphere in the Hertl house, the team spirit, Mutti Vroni’s hearty cuisine and the delicious beer, which is why he decided to start an apprenticeship there. In itself, this is not a particularly unusual step, but Jim was over 50 years old when he started his apprenticeship, making him the oldest apprentice in Germany. As a native American, Jim had to overcome age stereotypes as well as language barriers, but no hurdle was too high for him. In order to officially include him in the brewing community and to celebrate his successes, his master brewer David Hertl dedicated a beer to him.

The celebratory beer for our overseas hero is a gloriously cloudy New England IPA brewed with triple malt called Uncle Jim. The incredibly creamy culinary delight flows into the glass in a naturally cloudy gold and smells and tastes of tropical fruit, citrus fruits, spicy yeast and sun-ripened grain.
