Seahorses are interesting creatures. The tiny sea creatures wrap their curled tails around algae, coral, cotton swabs and whatever else they find. According to Greek myths, these nimble creatures are descendants of the majestic underwater horses that once pulled Poseidon's chariot. What is probably most special about them, however, is that it is not the female animals who carry the young. Fair division of labor is taken very seriously by the seahorses and instead of the females, the males incubate the offspring in their specially designed fanny packs. Why are we telling you this? Because we'd like to introduce you to our friend Jacques: a seahorse who rose from the sea to turn your heads with hoppy excellence and a decent 7.9% ABV.
Jacques was created by the Freiburg Braukollektiv and is a juicy double IPA. The fresh beer was brewed in the style of a West Coast India Pale Ale and is packed to the brim with divine hops. The brewers have selected a whole range of the finest C hops, varieties whose names begin with the letter C and which are characterized by their aroma density. They give Jacques intense flavors, an almost sticky structure and an intoxicating scent.
