News from the Berlin Weisse brewery Schneeeule!
Irmgard is the new addition to a whole range of exceptional Berlin wheat beers. The cool blonde is brewed with ginger and the peel of lemon, orange and pomegranate and was named after Irmgard Keun. The famous writer was one of the countless artists whose existence was threatened under the reign of terror of the Third Reich. Their works were considered degenerate and were banned. The author fought against the censorship of art and was on the run for years.
The beer equivalent of the courageous Ms. Keun is a Berliner Weisse with a light 3.0% alcohol content and a very special character. In addition to the unusual ingredients, the Brettanomyces yeast used ensures the refreshing taste and fine liveliness.
Irmgard presents itself in a golden-orange robe and adorns itself with a crown of airy, slightly tinted foam. The special ingredients are already noticeable in the scent: Irmgard exudes a wonderfully fresh aroma of tender malt, lemon and ginger. The initial taste presents the appropriate taste notes and refreshes the tongue with a juicy wave of citrus fruit. Strongly sour. The ginger adds a fine sharpness and flavor, while the pomegranate and orange create a floral fruitiness. The main players in the play of aromas are clearly the tangy citrus notes.
Irmgard inspires with a lively character, elegant acidity and refreshing fruit. Succeeded!
