In Bavarian dialect, a dantler is someone who makes a living selling products. The goods can be of different nature, but above all junk, flea market and second-hand goods dealers are called that.

Jochen Kreppe is a very different kind of Dantler: his profession is delicatessen. Together with his colleague Maximilian Süber, the chef opened his so-called Bavarian Deli in the heart of Munich. The menu includes international specialties that are presented in the finest presentation and with great attention to detail. In addition to cooked food, you can also buy preserves and fresh food to take home at Dantler. The latest addition to the exquisite range is their own beer. Together with Felix vom Endt from Orca Brau in Nuremberg, Jochen has created a beer that goes perfectly with his cuisine.

The Dantler is a crisp, classic-style Pilsner. The bottom-fermented delicacy was hopped with the noble hop variety Saphir and combines its typical tartness with fresh citrus notes, malty spiciness and skilfully placed hop tips. According to legend, Jochen’s grandfather can be found on the label of the brew: the traditionally dressed gentleman with the chic mustache holds two freshly caught trout in front of his face and seems to want to see the world through the eyes of the fish. The humorous portrait also hangs in Jochen’s Deli.
