The Blonde is a typical Belgian style of beer that absolutely cannot be missing from the assortment of Belgium’s breweries. Every brewery has its very own interpretation of the classic, all of which have in common the beautiful spiciness and diverse malt notes. The light beer inspires with its very own taste profile and, like most beers from this country, is a bit fuller and stronger than most German beers.
The Brasserie St-Feuillien from Le Roeulx naturally also has a Blonde on offer. The brewers put their own stamp on the style and created a variation that contains a little more aromatic hops than the traditional blonde. With an alcohol content of 7.5%, the noble drop is one of the strong beers, but is in the middle range as far as Belgian beer is concerned.
In the glass, the blonde presents itself in a clear, luminous golden tone, a stately crown of dense-pored, snow-white foam sits enthroned on the fragrant beer. A potpourri of freshly harvested green hop cones and sparkling citrus fills the air and makes you thirsty at the first sip. The first impression is malty: Soft notes of crispy bread crust, vanilla and light grain make the beginning, before the hops step in with a symphony of lemon, orange, summer flowers and a dry bitterness, harmoniously complementing the play of aromas.
