The beers in the Night Shift Series from Horizont Brewing are all barrel-aged specialties. As a basis, the wild brewers produce powerful, malty and aromatic beers that become even more complex, heavier and tastier as the barrel ages. At the end there are brews that need to be enjoyed with care and in peace: In order to perceive each and every one of the many nuances, the beer should be drunk at the right temperature from a suitable glass. In this way, the aromas can unfold in all their splendor and spoil the tongue with all their fire.

For example, the barrel-aged Double Baltic Porter in the Night Shift Vintage 2021 Edition is suitable for this celebration of beery craftsmanship. The strong beer was mashed twice and, once the brewing process was complete, stored in recently emptied bourbon barrels. The aromatic wooden barrels give the beer its very own taste stamp and enrich the malty character with harmonious notes.

Horizon’s refined Double Baltic Porter flows into the glass in the darkest shade of mahogany brown and is adorned with a nut-colored crown of creamy, dense-pored foam. Scent and taste are dominated by a dark composition of milk chocolate, candied red fruits, coffee, roasted almonds and bourbon. The beer is a rich, intense, delicately balanced and complex specialty with a luxurious mouthfeel.
