The people of Japan are said to be true purists. Minimalism is not a trend, but firmly anchored in the culture of the Far Eastern country and can be found in the aesthetics, in the style of clothing, in the furnishings, in the kitchen and in many other areas of everyday life.
The Dutch brewery iki Beer bases the composition of its beers on the Japanese way of life and also borrows one or the other ingredient from there. All beers are brewed with the leaves of the Sencha tea that is enjoyed every day in Japan. In addition, typical Asian ingredients give the beers their special taste. In keeping with the spirit of purism, the iki Beer range should not be without a non-alcoholic beer.
iki Zero is made like the brewery’s other beers, but contains no alcohol. The noble drop is brewed with green tea and ginger and flows into the glass in a wonderfully deep golden amber tone. The unmistakable scent of freshly brewed Sencha tea fills the air and mixes with delicate ginger to create an irresistible blend. The initial sip continues the olfactory first impression one to one and scores with mild malt, green tea and the fine aroma of candied ginger. A subtle bitterness underscores the taste and harmoniously rounds off the beer.
