The Helle is an excellent accompaniment for dishes of all kinds and for every occasion. If you believe the legend, the Bavarian classic was developed by the Munich Spatenbräu to bring good beer to the beer-poor north of Germany. For a long time, Northern Germany had the reputation that only industrially produced Pilsner was available there. In the south of the country there was a great variety of different styles and they didn’t want to let beer lovers die of thirst further up. Therefore, the brewers of the Spatenbräu plucked up courage and created a wonderful light beer for the North German beer lover. We can’t tell you whether the Munich brewery invented the light beer or not. What we do know, however, is that the Helle is a fabulous full-bodied beer. Thanks to its incomparably harmonious and round character and the skilful balance of hops and malt, the beer style is extremely tasty.
A light beer heralds the weekend, ends the day with a treat for the palate, goes well with grilled, roasted, baked and sweet things, quenches your thirst for beer and puts you in a good mood.
As a Franconian brewery, Spiegel Bräu naturally also has a light beer in its range. The interpretation from Tobias Spiegel’s pen is a golden-yellow, unfiltered brew with a soft malt depth and a subtly balanced hop bitterness. Sweet, uncomplicated and quite tasty.
