Due to their origins, the Luxembourg brewery Totenhopfen combines the best of Belgium and Germany: Heavy, complex, refined and multi-layered beers with a powerful character, strong sweetness and high alcohol content are the specialty of the Belgians, while the Germans go for their down-to-earth, classic and solid beers boast. Dead hops can be found in the golden mean. Sérgio and Patricia travel all over Europe and use not only the breweries and the expertise of brewers they are friends with, but also the beer styles of this world. Her repertoire is an illustrious mix of favorites from the craft beer movement, reinterpreted classics and creative beer specialties.

Red Lion is one of the classics with a new twist and is Totenhopfens very own version of a hearty cellar beer. This extremely popular German beer style is characterized by its powerful malt character and skillful balance. The brewers of Totenhopfen have achieved both extremely well: their cellar beer flows into the glass in a copper-red garment, adorns itself with a crown of slightly tinted foam and already presents the malt in its fragrance. The next taste is wonderfully soft and velvety. Notes of roasted grain caress the palate and combine on the tongue with caramel, berry tones and a hint of tangerine to form an irresistible mixture. A dry bitterness underlines the play of aromas and is the perfect counterpart to sweet malt and fruity hops.
