Every brewery has a beer that resonates with customers the most. In the Krug household, it is the dark lager that sells like hot cakes. This maroon beauty brings the perfect balance of smooth, full-bodied sweetness and roasted bitterness to the glass. In order to take the balance to the extreme, the brewers use a special mashing process and selected types of malt. At the end there is a sinfully good beer specialty that every beer lover wraps around their fingers.

The Franconian classic flows into the glass in a shimmering, coppery fawn brown and is crowned with a good amount of firm, lightly tinted foam. A symphony of dark roasted malt, creamy caramel and tangy orange zest fills the air and makes you wallow in anticipation. The inevitable first sip intoxicates the palate with a fresh sweetness composed of toffee, candied orange and sun-kissed grain. Gradually, deep malt tones and a powerful bitterness join in and round off the play of aromas perfectly. Because the lager offers everything a beer heart desires, it leaves you wanting more.
