In the Franconian town of Merkendorf, Richard Wagner is a true legend. The senior boss of the Wagner brewery has always supplied the community with the finest beer and invites the villagers to socialize in the tavern and in the shady beer garden of the brewery. Food and drink at Wagner are of excellent quality. His award-winning creations not only spoil and refresh the people of Merkendorf: By participating in national and international competitions, the traditional brewery has made a good name for itself, which precedes it far beyond the borders of Franconia.

To complete their range and to express their appreciation for their senior boss on his 75th birthday, the brewers have come up with a fine beer: The Richard Wagner Dark is a strong beer with an alcohol content of 5.5% and an aromatic and full-bodied malt character. A hint of aromatic hops completes the taste profile.

The chestnut-brown beer shows a beautiful red shimmer in the glass and is crowned with an airy head of foam. Darkness presents itself on the nose with notes of roasted hazelnuts, toasted malt and sun-ripened grain. The first taste caresses the palate with a soft sweetness and a composition of roasted nuts, pithy malt, earthy hops, dark rye bread and creamy caramel. The Richard Wagner Dark is a worthy birthday beer for a master brewer and a feast for all the senses.
